- The Monaco defender was Arsenal's target last season, but a deal could not be reached
- He is one of the best defenders this season in Europe
Manchester United manager Jose
Mourinho and his counterpart from Manchester City Pep Guardiola will now
go into serious battle in their quest to bring in Monaco defender
Djibril Sidibe to the Premier League.
During the last summer transfer,
the 24-year-old French footballer was a target for Arsenal and he has
established himself as one of France’s best defenders.
According
to reports in France, City boss Pep Guardiola is thought to have
watched the 24-year-old on a scouting trip in January 2017, and is keen
to replace his ageing right-back’s Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna who
are approaching the end of their contracts.
Manchester City will face Monaco
in the UEFA Champions League last 16, and Guardiola will keep a close
watch on the player in the two-legged encounters.
On
the other hand, Manchester United handler Jose Mourinho is thought to
want to bring the French international in to Old trafford for him to
replace Matteo Darmian.
