The 31-year-old striker who has beaten Sir Bobby Charlton's goal record at Manchester United was said to be considering a move to China in search of a first team football.
Should the former Everton forward accept the offer from the Chinese Super League club, then Wayne Rooney will be the highest paid footballer in the world.
Argentine star Carlos Tevez is the current highest paid player in the world as he earns £615,000 a week after completing a move to Shanghai Shenhua who are also Chinese Super League campaigners.
