THE matric results of a Limpopo school allegedly involved
in the leak of a maths paper have been released.
Fourteen matric pupils at Giyani High School, in the Mopani district, who allegedly confessed to having access to the Mathematics Paper II in October last year, were among those who got their results on Thursday, spokesman Elijah Mhlanga said.
The release came two days after the Thohoyandou High Court ordered the department to release the matric results of the New Era College, whose owner, Tinyiko Khosa (52) had been implicated in the leak.
Mhlanga said the disciplinary hearing of Giyani High’s alleged cheaters had been completed. The results were expected to be released next week.
Department officials first found the paper in possession of Giyani pupils last year. A Hawks investigation revealed that New Era College pupils had distributed the exam paper via social media.
Khosa was subsequently arrested. He is facing a charge of theft in the Giyani Magistrate’s Court.
Khosa owns two independent schools in Malamulele.
