- Jorge Mendes says his agent could have earned over €100m a year in China
- Chinese Super League sides have recently signed Oscar and Carlos Tevez
Cristiano Ronaldo rejected a €300 million move to a Chinese Super League side according to his agent Jorge Mendes.
According to the Portuguese, a Chinese
outfit had offered his client Ronaldo a salary of over €100m a year in
addition to the astronomical transfer fee to Madrid.

The salary would have made him the highest earning footballer by a mile but the Real Madrid star turned the move down.
Chinese Super League sides spent big
recently and have signed Oscar and Carlos Tevez in quick succession
ahead of the January transfer window.
Tevez is now the highest earning footballer following his move to the Far East.
"An offer of €300 million to Real Madrid and more than €100m per year [was made] to the player from China," Mendes told Sky Sport Italia. "But money is not everything, the Spanish club is his life."
2016 Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo had only just extended his contract at Madrid in November, penning a deal until 2021.
The forward has been at the Santiago Bernabeu since 2009, winning two Champions League titles and a Liga crown.
